I Stopped Buying Branded Cosmetic Jewellery And Switched To Gold Ones Instead

I am obsessed with jewellery and I used to buy branded pieces because they were statement pieces.    It was probably a few years after I started working that I realised many office workers were wearing branded earrings. This got me interested in buying them too as it felt like a status achievement to be able to buy them and wear them on special occasions.    This went on for a couple of years until I stopped wearing them for a while due to my interest in attending yoga sessions after work. The hassle of removing them and storing them safely led me to wear them less. I also started developing a mild allergy to nickel earrings.
I started exploring precious metals and silver as they were said to be hypoallergenic. That’s when I stumbled on gold earrings. They are priced cheaper than branded cosmetic earrings but have real value and could be kept for generations.    I saw a YouTube video online talking about the wasting of money when buying cosmetic branded jewellery as they do not last and have low resale value, and I was convinced that gold is the way to go for me.    The great thing about the switch is that my ears no longer have allergic reactions, and I can also wear the stud earrings to my yoga sessions as they are less likely to tarnish.    I am now wondering what to do with my branded cosmetic earrings that are collecting dust on my shelf. Perhaps I will try to sell them away to secondhand stores or on online secondhand resellers like Vestaire.
