I Love Bombed My Girlfriend And Gave Her A Lot Of Gifts, But She Still Broke Up With Me

I wanted to be a perfect boyfriend, always there, always giving more than she expects. I wanted to make her feel special, every day.   Everyone expresses love in different ways, and for me, my love language is giving gifts. I’ve always believed that giving everything to the person you love is the best way to show your feelings. That's what I tried to do with my girlfriend.  So, I started love bombing her—showering her with expensive gifts like jewellery, surprise vacations, designer bags—basically, anything I thought would make her happy. Whenever she wanted something, I made sure to get it for her. Fancy dinners, spontaneous trips, you name it. I believed that the more I gave, the more she would feel loved and appreciated. But I never imagined that it wouldn't be enough.  But despite all the gifts and gestures, things started to change. One day, out of nowhere, she broke up with me. I was shocked. All the money I spent, all the time and effort I put into making her happy meant absolutely nothing in her eyes. After everything I gave her, she just walked away like it was nothing.  That’s when the anger hit. I felt completely taken for granted. I had given so much, not just money but also my time, energy and love. More than just a boyfriend, I was a man who gave everything without expecting anything in return. But now, it all felt like a waste. So, I asked for everything back—the gifts, the dinners, the trips, the designer bags.   Every single thing I spent on her, I wanted returned. I even made a list and calculated how much I had spent, including the petrol money for all the trips I made just to see her. I felt I deserved some kind of return on the emotional and financial investment I had poured into our relationship.  I never expected it to end like this, but I guess my love wasn’t enough for her.
